MKEC is looking for a Structural Engineer to join our industrial group in our Wichita, KS office. This candidate will be responsible for directing design teams in the development and completion of projects in the refining and petrochemical sector.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of reports, designs, and drawings.
- Ability to complete structural calculations with different design materials, specifically steel and concrete.
- Familiarity in appropriate selection of building materials.
- Understand the steps of project development and be familiar with the traditional phased approach to industrial projects.
- Prepare cost estimates and/or appropriation request for capital projects.
- Point of contact for clients to ensure design meets their needs and objectives.
- Develop and maintain client relations.
Requirements:
- B.S. in Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 0-6 years of applicable experience.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and RISA software.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to handle multiple projects at once.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and time management skills are required.
- Ability to work well under pressure of deadlines, exhibit good business judgement and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
- PE license in Kansas preferred (or on track to obtain a PE license).
